Every Move you Make...!

As if our lives were already not monitored enough, the airport authority of Delhi have decided to up the number of CCTV's at the IGI airport.

In a bid to be better prepared for the Commonwealth games, the security arrangements have been beefed up and a number of measures are being taken to make the entire event more safe. Reports tell us that 37 more cameras will be added to the total number, taking the toll up to an incredible 559!

Careful, someone, somewhere is always watching you!

Re(a)d All About It!

Spice Jet Airlines just lost one of its tractors that was used for the transportation of luggage. Under the shroud of darkness and fog, the unidentified thief managed to sneak out a RED colored tractor out of the IGI airport in New Delhi.

The police have still not managed to make any headway in the case even 10 days later!

I wonder how blind do you have to be in order to see a man driving a RED tractor out of the supposedly heavily guarded premises of the airport! It goes without saying that the authorities are kind of red-faced now!

Unruly Passenger Strikes Again!

What is it about Indian passengers that gets them spewing some of the most obnoxious things? Recently a passenger on a Kingfisher plane bound for Hyderabad from Mumbai had a unruly passenger aboard.

When asked by the crew to straighten his seat, he not only refused but went to bombard the crew with a barrage of abuses. The flight commander promptly unloaded the passenger and sent him packing to the authorities.

Now would it have been easier if had just kept his moth shut! Apparently he was pleading to the policemen to let him go....so much for the high-handed bravado!

Justice at Last!

The 84" hijack of the Air India plane would probably never be forgotten. Probably because the prime accused had managed to evade the Indian authorities after illegally taking refuge in Canada for the past 15 years.

Parminder Saini was the leader of five Sikh militants who had hijacked the flight bound for Delhi from Srinagar on July 6, 1984. Holding 255 passengers hostage they diverted the plane to Lahore. The dramatic events came to a close after a 17-hour stand-off. The hijackers finally surrendered to the Pakistani authorities.

Deported by the Canadian authorities to face trial in India he was put on aplane on Tuesday to face trial in India.

Better late then never!

B(a)owling for Growth!

Navojt Singh Sidhu has always been a major draw for the masses, now actively participating in politics, this erstwhile bowler of the Indian cricket team has now begun a vociferous cry for development of the Rajasansi Airport in Punjab.

In a talk with the media, he further stated that the government was exteremly lackadaisical in its approach and h would soon raise the matter in the parliment. From judging dance shows to creating a whole new approach to the english language , Mr. Sidhu seems to be bowling for a lot nowadays!

You shall not Pass!

Recently all the passengers aboard Spice Jet airways refused to get off the plane when it was announced that it had been canceled. Apparently the heavy fog caused the delay, even after the fog cleared comparatively the pilot on the plane refused to fly stating that he would exceed the number of flying hours he was supposed to fly!

The Spice jet bound for Ahemdabad finally departed at 11 the next day after being delayed for 12 hours!

For the love of a seat!

Make way for the Sky Marshals!

United States and India have come together to ink pacts on aviation security and development. According to sources the 2 countries have signed a pact that ensures greater safety for passengers by deploying Sky Marshals. These Sky Marshals will be able to ward off any threat and provide even greater safety for all the passengers on board.

I am sure all the alcohol induced VIP's (read people who ACCIDENTALLY touch the crew members due to cramped spaces!) will now keep their grubby hands at bay!

I for one am really thrilled to have additional security on board!

Terror once again!

According to recent intelligence reports, Islamic Fundamentalist groups have come together with Al Qaeda to hijack an Air India plane. The report further states that any Air India plane that connects the SAARC countries is under threat.

I think terror groups have become increasingly atve in the last few years. Wonder if I have to stay holed up forever in my Bunker!

IndiGo Launches 6 New Flights!

Looks like India is finally coming of age with greater number of people taking to air travel! In tune with the rising economy and growth of a number of smaller cities, companies like Indigo are connecting them to the rest of India.

With the launch of 6 new flights cities like Patna and Lucknow will be connected to Mumbai and Chennai.

In the coming years every town and city in India would probably be just one flight away!

Full frontal Check!

There was time long ago when people could see passengers off right next to the aircraft(remember old bollywood movies!) But today you would be called lucky if you reach the parking lot of the airport! As if security checks were not intrusive enough, now make way for the FULL BODY SCANNER!

It scans more than you would l...ike to know!

Can't See?! No Matter a little Faith works (sometimes!!)

Somehow every time the winters come to New Delhi flying always becomes a problem. Earlier the problem was that there were no CAT III B systems at the airport, now even when we have them, they refuse to function causing delays and costing the companies a lot of money!

Why do the pilots have to have faith and actually pray rather then rely on functioning system to land in the foggy conditions!

High Handed Diplomacy!

Recently 3 Indian fliers aboard the Cathay Pacific created a huge ruckus on the plane that was on its way to Hong Kong. Apparently the Indian fliers were already sloshed and started demanding more on the flight. Realizing that the 3 passengers were already drunk enough, the air hostess on Cathay refused to serve them more alcohol.

The unruly passengers then started abusing the stewardess in hindi and passed many lewd comments on her morality. On arrival one of the 3 who holds the post of a diplomat threatened the airline with dire consequences!

I mean aren't diplomats supposed to observe some sort of diplomacy!

'Nano'fying the Skies!

It looks as if the age for the tiny and the less space consuming has arrived. With a number of companies including our very own Tata developing and launching miniature cars, the industry is witnessing a paradigm shift to the age of the small and efficient. Mahindra one of the leading car manufactures had recently acquired two firms in Australia fro developing small aircrafts.

Coming up with a nano of its own, Mahindra is all set to launch 2 seater air crafts that are not just small in size but also custom designed to brave the harsh weather conditions in India.

I guess size does matter now!

Habib Husain, an Indian working in Saudi Arabia had dreamt of a thriving future when he had gone to Saudi Arabia. However the bad conditions there forced him to find a way home. Hiding in the toilet of an Air India plane he traveled all the way back to India.

On arrival he was caught and handed over the police although he was released recently on bail.
I am sure he can't be compalining of the cramped spaces!

Cramping it up!

New twists to the molestation row! The footballers of the team Churchill Brothers who were involved in the molestation of the Spice Jet air hostess were freed on bail a few days ago.
Now the chief patron of the Churchill Brothers  team is alleging that the cramped spaces aboard the airline had actually been misunderstood as molestation and is even planning to sue the airline for defamation!

I mean is there not one person left who can stand up and take responsibility? Cowards, I tell you all of them!I would have probably HELPED the footballers use the Emergency exit mid-air had I been on the plane!

Footballers caught for High Handed behaviour!

Recently on a spice jet plane 2 footballers active in West Bengal tried to molest the air hostess! One of them apparently caught hold of the her ass cheeks and squeezed it! After landing the CISF arrested the duo and placed them under custody.

I mean don't these guys get to handle enough balls on the field!

Hostage Drama on Air India!

Rising tempers and cancellations led to a dramatic series of events on an Air India plane. Set to take the pilgrims for the Haj, the Air India plane bound from Mumbai was canceled due to the fog in New Delhi.

A few of the infuriated passengers about 20 in number blocked the gates of the aircraft and refused to let the crew deboard, holding them hostage for a while.

The matter was finally sorted out but talk about irate passengers! Crew take note!

Caught in the Mist!

Saturday last, the heavy fog that descended onto New Delhi played havoc with the travel services and affected a karge number of trains and flights. A close to 200 flights were delayed even though the newly revamped airport boasts of state of the art equipment and 3 runways.

Guess this was not enough to take us out of blind sight!

What a high!

Recently an Ethiopian national, a 21 year old girl was arrested at the Mumbai airport. Apparently she was carrying 1.6 kilograms of Heroin in her luggage which amounts to quite a lot of money! Sad that such young people are getting involved in major crimes..

Hope she didn't have to ring in the new year in a jail cell!
