Justice at Last!

The 84" hijack of the Air India plane would probably never be forgotten. Probably because the prime accused had managed to evade the Indian authorities after illegally taking refuge in Canada for the past 15 years.

Parminder Saini was the leader of five Sikh militants who had hijacked the flight bound for Delhi from Srinagar on July 6, 1984. Holding 255 passengers hostage they diverted the plane to Lahore. The dramatic events came to a close after a 17-hour stand-off. The hijackers finally surrendered to the Pakistani authorities.

Deported by the Canadian authorities to face trial in India he was put on aplane on Tuesday to face trial in India.

Better late then never!
